Our DIY Oyster Mushroom Grow Kits are an easy and economical way to to get large harvests of oyster mushrooms at home. Included in this kit is enough materials to make THREE of your own growing blocks, which you can make either all at once or stagger their production for spread out harvests.
 
They're a great option for learning more about mushroom cultivation (compared to a pre-made 'ready to fruit' grow kit) as you will be involved in more parts of the cultivation process.
 
They can also be used as an educational project for kids of any age, as a homeschool or school holiday activity for hands on learning!  
 
These kits involve a simplified process of mushroom cultivation which we have developed here at MycoLogic to make growing these kits from scratch an absolute breeze!
 
The simple steps of the process involve: 
1) Hydrate the substrate (sawdust pellets) 
2) Inoculate the substrate with mushroom spawn 
3) Wait for the mushroom mycelium to colonise the substrate 
4) Cut open the bag and introduce to fruiting conditions (humid and airy) 
5) Harvest mushrooms when ready and then await 2nd and 3rd crops! 
 
The kits include: 
- 1kg Native Phoenix Oyster Mushroom Spawn 
- 3kg Sawdust Pellets 
- Hydrated Lime 
- Cable ties for sealing bags 
- Full printed instructions
 
In addition to this, you will need a measuring jug or scales for measuring and mixing water, measuring spoons for measuring hydrated lime, and a spritzer bottle to mist your mushrooms while they're growing. That's it!
